Fiddleheads Acoustic Music Camp

(By fiddlers Kathy Sommer and Ellen Carlson)

This is a weekend opportunity for musicians of all ages in a folk music setting.  A variety of workshops are offered from “bluegrass to swing”, back up styles, improvisation skills, theory, learning tunes by ear, vocals, and instruments such as violin, mandolin, guitar, viola, cello, piano, and hammered dulcimer.  The weekend specialty is the band performances, where participants join a band and practice and perform for each other.  Don’t think of this as a kids’ camp; on the contrary, every year brings ages 8-70, and all ages and musical abilities are welcome.

Fiddleheads Camp is run by fiddlers Kathy Sommer (Zimpfer) and Ellen Carlson, and is in its 9th season this year.

For more information, contact fiddleheads_nh@yahoo.com or visit the website for an application at www.fiddleheadscamp.com, or call (603) 528-1705.
